ASTM introduces new standard for Cold Weather Protective Clothing
ASTM Committee F23 announces F2732, Practice for Determining the Temperature Ratings for Cold Weather Protective Clothing. F2732 provides an explanation of all the variables that affect a person’s thermal comfort and describes a procedure for measuring the insulation value of protective clothing. This will enable consumers to evaluate a variety of protective garments and allow them to make comparisons that will be helpful in selecting the right product to suit their needs.

ASTM Announces New Standard for Rainwear
The gas utilities and petro-chemical companies have a standard to apply to their rainwear. What NFPA 2112 does for work apparel and uniforms, ASTM F2733 does for rainwear. This specification covers the minimum performance criteria for flame resistance and other requirements for rainwear used by workers with the potential to be simultaneously exposed to wet weather conditions and either hydrocarbon or petrochemical industrial fires.
